If you are in the market for a fitness tracker you’re probably overwhelmed by the number of options to choose from. There are a number of companies that offer devices of different shapes and sizes, packed with different health and smartwatch features. With so many options which ones should you consider and potentially buy? This is my list of the best fitness trackers under £100/$100. Let’s get into it.

The Garmin Vivosmart 4 is a very compact device. In fact, this is probably one of its downsides as the result is a screen that is quite small. However, if you are after a compact device this is one of the slimmest available. The screen is a touchscreen OLED display that is clear and easy to read but because of that small form factor, you won’t get a lot of information displayed on it at once. As a result of this, it can take some getting used to for navigating the menus but on the flip side, you do get that small form factor.
Fitness tracking features is something the Garmin Vivosmart 4 has plenty of. It has the usual suspects like step counting, calories burned, heart rate and sleep tracking but also features SpO2 tracking and stress monitoring. Garmin also includes a Body Battery metric which uses your stress, heart rate, sleep and activity data to provide optimal times to exercise and rest through a Body Battery score. This is a pretty cool feature and is something I haven’t seen on any other device.
Finally, the Garmin Connect app is one of the better companion apps available. It is simple to use and your data is laid out in an easy to read way. The home screen gives you the detail you need but you can also dive into specifics to do deeper analysis.
Overall the Garmin Vivosmart 4 is one of the best fitness trackers under £100/$100. I would recommend this to people who are looking for an unobtrusive design. However, if you aren’t concerned about having a larger device there are much better options so carry on reading.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 came 2nd in our Best Fitness Tracker under £50/$60. Click here to see that comparison review if you aren’t looking to spend loads or are on a tight budget.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 5 provides a lot of good features at a pretty great price. At £28/$38 there really isn’t too much to dislike about it. There is no always-on display featured on the tracker but for the price, you can’t complain. The tracker itself is a small pebble-shaped unit that you just pop out of the silicone band to remove, no catches to pinch to remove straps. This makes it super easy to switch bands.
The Mi Band 5 delivers solid fitness tracking features. You won’t have any issues using it to track your steps and workouts. It is worth noting that the heart rate data on these types of devices won’t be as accurate as data from a heart rate chest strap so if you are looking to pinpoint accurate heart rate data I’d look at getting a chest heart rate monitor to accompany the fitness tracker. It doesn’t feature the likes of SpO2 sensors or built-in GPS but again for the price you can’t complain. For GPS you can connect to your phone’s GPS but this is reliant on a good signal from your data provider.
A built-in 125mAh battery promises 14 days of battery life and you should expect this with normal usage. Obviously, if you have all the settings cranked up to continuous tracking and do a lot of workouts you will reduce this dramatically.
The Mi Fit app is okay but still could do with some improving. The menus can be a bit confusing and require a lot of sub-menu interactions to get to the data you want to see. Also, there appears to be a lot on the main dashboard but not a lot of what is shown is actually valuable and feels a bit pointless. You cannot customise it either which again would have been nice.
Xiaomi has delivered a fantastic fitness tracker for an amazing price in the Mi Band 5. Despite this fitness tracker also featuring on our Best Fitness Tracker under £50/$60 list, the Mi Band 5 is still a contender for best fitness trackers under £100/$100 purely because of its value for money.
3) Fitbit Inspire 2

Pros
One of the Best Apps

- Fitbit Sleep Tracking
Cons
No Built-in GPS
- Price - £70/$99
- Dimensions - 37.3 × 16.7 × 12.9 mm (L x W x H)
- Weight - 8.5 grams
Key Features
- Up to 10 Day Battery Life
- 8.29mm pOLED Display
- Touch Display
- Activity Tracking
- Sleep Tracking
- Stress Monitoring
- Continuous Heart rate
- 5ATM Waterproof Rating
- App Notifications
- Bluetooth 4.0
Fitbit is one of the biggest names when it comes to fitness trackers and this is one of the real positives of the Fitbit Inspire 2. It features the Fitbit sensors that have been honed and improved throughout their generations of devices. The Inspire is Fitibt’s entry-level device range so with this you don’t get the full Fitbit experience as you can imagine. If you aren’t looking for that though you will still get some really good features.
Activity tracking won’t be a problem on this as with any Fitbit. There isn’t any onboard GPS which is worth noting but it will track steps, calories burned and heart rate amongst a load of other metrics. Sleep tracking is the real winning feature though. Personally, I think Fitbit’s sleep tracking is the best on the market not just for accuracy but also for how clearly the data is displayed in the app.
Now the app is gonna be your go-to when looking at your health data and that is because the screen is quite small. You do get that slim design but as a result, you sacrifice screen real estate so you won’t be able to easily see your daily metrics from your wrist.
The Fitbit app is another solid companion app. Like the Garmin Connect app, it is just simple to use. You don’t need to dig through menus to see what you want, Fitbit just displays it to you. Especially because the Inspire 2 screen is on the small side, having a good app is key. Furthermore, with Fitbit products, you get access to the Fitbit community and the social side of owning a fitness tracker. This can range from step challenges to serious race time trials. If you know friends and family with a Fitbit then get a Fitbit.
The Fitbit Inspire 2 is a good way to get started with fitness tracking, offering solid features. It is also a good introduction into the Fitbit ecosystem which is one of the main selling points of the Inspire 2 and is why it’s on our list of best fitness trackers under £100/$100.
2) Amazfit GTS 2 Mini
Pros
Good Screen
Good Fitness Tracking
- Built-in GPS
Cons
Basic Notifications
Average App
- Price - £80/$99
- Dimensions - 40.5 × 35.8 × 8.95 mm (L x W x H)
- Weight - 19.5 grams
Key Features
- Up to 14 Day Battery Life
- 1.55-inch AMOLED display
- 2.5D reinforced glass
- Touch Display
- Activity Tracking
- Sleep Tracking
- Stress Tracking
- SpO2 Tracking
- Continuous Heart rate
- Built-in GPS
- 5ATM Waterproof Rating
- App Notifications
- Bluetooth 5.0
The Huami Amazfit GTS 2 Mini does look like an Apple knock off but it is actually a really good fitness tracker at a pretty good price. Huami Amazfit Bip S was voted our Best Fitness Tracker under £50/$60 but it’s biggest drawback was the screen. Huami has addressed that with the GTS range. The GTS 2 Mini’s screen is a crisp 1.55-inch AMOLED display.
Fitness tracking on the GTS 2 Mini is powered by Huami’s BioTracker 2.0 sensor. This enables you to track your basic fitness features as well as SpO2, sleep and stress tracking. The GTS 2 Mini also incorporates Huami’s PAI score which uses a combination of heart rate, sleep and exercise data to generate an activity score out of 100. This is a quick way to see how active you have been throughout the day and if you need to get up off your a-s-s and start to do some exercise.
There is a 220mAh battery in the GTS2 mini which Huami claims will give you 14 days of battery. This battery life estimate doesn’t include SpO2 monitoring, so if you would want to make the most of this feature expect to see the battery life drop to more like 7 days.
The GTS 2 Mini uses the Zepp app which is a much-improved companion app from Huami for their newer Amazfit devices. The Mi Fit app or Amazfit app which devices used previously were clunky apps that made getting to the data you wanted cumbersome. The Zepp app does address some of those issues however, it is not as sophisticated as the apps offered by the likes of Fitbit and Garmin.
The Huami Amazfit GTS 2 Mini is a great looking fitness tracker. In fact, it resembles more of a smartwatch and people will probably mistake it for the much more expensive Apple Watch. On the whole, the offering from the GTS 2 Mini is solid and is a great option at a good price.
1) Huawei Watch Fit: The Best Fitness Tracker under £100/$100
Pros
Big Screen
Virtual Personal Trainer
- Built-in GPS
Cons
Average App
Not Easy to Remove Watch Straps
- Price - £79.99/$100
- Dimensions - 46 × 30 × 10.7 mm (L x W x H)
- Weight - 21 grams
Key Features
- Up to 14 Day Battery Life
- 1.64-inch AMOLED display
- 2.5D Curved Glass
- Touch Display
- Activity Tracking
- Sleep Tracking
- Stress Tracking
- SpO2 Tracking
- Continuous Heart rate
- Built-in GPS
- 5ATM Waterproof Rating
- App Notifications
- 4GB Built-in Storage
- Bluetooth 5.0
The best fitness tracker under £100/$100 is the Huawei Watch Fit. Huawei opted for a different approach when it comes to screen size for their Watch Fit. The shape is more rectangular than square. What that means is you get much more screen real-estate with a 1.64-inch display. It’s a 456 x 280 HD AMOLED display as well. With that larger screen, you will be able to use the device to scroll through your health data so no need to keep jumping onto the app to check your step count.
The battery life on the Watch Fit is 10 days according to Huawei. It appears this is pretty accurate for typical usage scenarios which Huawei states includes sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring enabled.
Huawei has packed in some really good fitness features into the Watch Fit. As with all the devices on this list, you get the usual stuff like steps, calories etc. Then you also get the more advanced sensors like SpO2, sleep and stress tracking. The Watch Fit also includes a feature that I haven’t seen on any other fitness tracker device before and that is a built-in virtual personal trainer. An animation appears on the screen which walks you through some basic exercises to follow and perform. These workouts won’t blow your mind but they are handy to have as a backup or if you want to do a quick session.
I have covered the Huawei Health app in other comparisons and it remains the same. The main drawbacks of Huawei Health are that there is no web dashboard, you can only use the app. Also, you cannot export to the likes of Strava and Runkeeper which will be an issue for some people.
Overall, for the price, you get a lot of features in a great device on the Huawei Watch Fit. For this reason it is our best fitness tracker under £100/$100.
If you have an extra £/$10 – 20 to spend I would also check out the Fitbit Charge 4 or the Huawei GT 2e.
Let me know down in the comments if I have missed a device off the list.
I hope you found this comparison review helpful.
Until next time
