If you own a Fitbit Versa 3 like me you will be familiar with the extremely short cable that Fitbit provide to charge the device. Measuring a measly 54cm you really do struggle to charge in any normal home scenario apart from right next to your laptop. When searching through the Fitbit website to see if they have an alternative product to rectify this, I was disappointed to find that there weren’t any. Having come to the conclusion that I wasn’t going to get a longer official charger I decided to venture into the chasm that is Amazon shopping. Surprisingly when you search for “Fitbit Versa 3 charger” you aren’t greeted with the 100s of different options like usual. After scanning through the various results I came across the KIMILAR dock, specifically for the Versa 3 & Sense.
The KIMILAR dock is made of black coated aluminium and is pretty minimalistic in design. It has a thin base, with rubber feet on so it doesn’t scratch your surfaces, which then flow into the charger ports at the top of the dock. The KIMILAR has the same four pins you will recognize from the official Fitbit charger and these help to snap the watch into place when charging. I would say the magnets on the KIMILAR charger are just as strong as on the official Fitbit charger. As soon as the watch gets close to the dock it pulls it in and secures it in place. Once it’s in there it isn’t budging. Those magnets keep it firmly in place.
Now the main criticism of the official Fitbit charger is the length of the cable, so how does the KIMILAR cable compare? The cable for the KIMILAR is 150cm long which is more than enough to stretch from a desk or bedside table to a plug socket.
Charging Speeds
My biggest concern with buying a third-party charger was it impacting that fast charging capability the Versa 3 has. I ran some tests and put the official charger and the KIMILAR Fitbit Versa 3 dock head to head to compare the charging speeds to see if there was a difference. Both were charged in the same socket using the same plug to try and make the test as standardised as possible.

Verdict
If you are after a charger dock or just a charger with a longer cable for your Versa 3 then the KIMILAR Fitbit Versa 3 Charger Dock is a great option. It chargers at the same speed as the official Fitbit charger and gives you that extra cable length that is really needed.
